Congratulations to all medical students who have matched to the residency program of their choice! In celebration of this day–and, signaling the importance of healthcare to the nation–14 of the President’s cabinet members traveled to medical schools around the country to address students. Speaking to students at Howard University, Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra remarked that the future is bright with a new generation of talented and remarkable doctors that look like the communities they will serve, and heralding the importance of the future contributions of ALL medical students. As Mr. Becerra put it, “You are special at a time when your country needs you. You are more than just a physician – you are the face of leadership for this country for years to come.”
