To showcase diversity in medicine—and inspire children of color to aspire to healthcare careers—Ghanaian-American physician Joel Bervell has developed an animated YouTube series called The Doctor Is In. Featuring a curious, energetic, and bright-eyed 5-year-old Black boy with a big dream, the show aims to explores important health topics in ways little learners can understand and get excited by—with help from a few cheerful, talking medical tools along the way.
